1973 Pontiac Trans Am

On May 21, 2017, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, the self-proclaimed “Greatest Show on Earth,” ended its 146-year run, citing diminishing crowds and higher costs. Car guys know better. The Greatest Show on Earth just could not compete with MCACN.

The Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals again provided muscle car enthusiasts with a year’s supply of excitement. Bob Ashton, along with the entire MCACN team, continued to astound attendees with new reasons to love the American muscle car.

MASCAR Classics unveiled this 1973 Pontiac Trans Am equipped with the Super Duty 455 engine. Scott Tedro had the MASCAR team take a very nice, unrestored, 10,000-original-mile car and perform a complete nut-and-bolt restoration.

More than any year prior, it seemed that everyone in the building came armed with their own favorite muscle car stories and experiences. Ashton has consistently made the point that MCACN is ultimately not about the cars, but about the people.
